Mic Drop: Purim Edition

Parshas Vayakhel When Moshe Rabbeinu came down with the second luchos, we find the Jews standing in an interesting place. From the beginning there was never supposed to be a second time. However, we sinned with Chet Ha'Egel and needed a second chance.

Rashi tells us in the first posuk in this week's Parsha that the day that Moshe came down on was Yom Kippur, which is the day of teshuva. This is when Hashem forgave us for the Chet Ha'Egel.

In the Megillah it doesn't even mention Hashem's name once. Purim is a holiday that we have to find Hashem on our own. You have to go find Him at your pace not where you are being forced to do anything. Purim is a day of true celebration where you can be happy. When you don't have inspiration, you don't have creativity. Without creativity, you can go down a big rabbit hole of depression. Sometimes you need to take a deep breath and recalculate your thoughts. Put your phone away! Go think and brainstorm ideas and try to find solutions.

On Purim it's all about searching. No one tells you how to find it, you have to be creative in how to find Hakadosh Boruch Hu and how to find happiness. This is one of the reasons for the mitzvah of drinking on Purim. Drinking brings out our inner selves, and takes away the barriers to finding Hashem and finding Happiness. One day a year, we unlock that part of ourselves to find Hashem.
