Riding the Waves Parshas Vayakhel In Last week's parsha, we find that the Mishkan was built up after we read about the terrible tragedy at the Cheit Ha'Egel. There is a machlokes if the Mishkan was built before or after Chet Ha'egel. However, in terms of the order of the pesukim, it seems that Mishkan was built afterwards. Moshe went up and got the Torah, only to come down to see the heart breaking scene of the Chet Ha'Egel. Suddenly, almost immediately afterwards, the Torah

Contemplating Completion
Parshas Vayakhel After Chet Ha'Egel, the Torah goes on to describe Hashem's specific way of connecting with him to repair the damaged relationship after the sin. Hashem has to teach us how we can come closer to Him, however, Hashem does this in a very specific way - through the mitzvos of Shabbat and the building of the Mishkan. The laws of Shabbat are derived from the 39 malachos of the building of the Mishkan. Shabbat is so important because it's the essence of what makes u

Mic Drop: Purim Edition Parshas Vayakhel
When Moshe Rabbeinu came down with the second luchos, we find the Jews standing in an interesting place. From the beginning there was never supposed to be a second time. However, we sinned with Chet Ha'Egel and needed a second chance. Rashi tells us in the first posuk in this week's Parsha that the day that Moshe came down on was Yom Kippur, which is the day of teshuva. This is when Hashem forgave us for the Chet Ha'Egel. In the Megi

Purim Preparation With Purim coming up around the corner, there are three powerful ideas that I learned and would like to share. Hopefully the ideas and impact from the learning can inspire us not only to have an amazing Adar aleph and Adar bet, but also to keep in rising and growing all-year long. The Gemara in Megillah teaches us that Mordechai and others were learning about the Omer. Suddenly, Haman walks in, and he asks Mordechai, "Why aren't you mourning?" He was confuse

Additionally, we have been having unbelievable Thursday night Kumzitz's to help us prepare for Shabbos, so anyon

No Step Too Small
Parshas Tetzaveh Among the various garments worn by the Kohen Gadol discussed in this week's parshah, is the choshen. There is an interesting story behind this piece of the Kohen Gadol's garments. Way back in Parshas Shmos, Hashem was trying to convince Moshe Rabenu at the burning bush, to accept the mission of leading Am Yisrael and approaching Pharaoh to set them free. Rashi writes that Moshe hesitated at the burning bush for an entire week, out of respect for his older bro
